WACWISA 3 Storey Office and Laboratory Complex Substantially Completed

In a short ceremony at the Nyankpala Campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS), the West African Centre for Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA) was handed an Office and Laboratory Complex, funded under the African Centres of Excellence for Development Impact (ACE Impact) Initiative by Government of Ghana and the World Bank. The construction was done by Messers Larata Company Limited under the supervision of the UDS Works and Physical Development Directorate over a contract period of sixteen (16) calendar months.

The 3-Storey Office and Laboratory Complex will be hosting researchers, lecturers, students and administrative staff of WACWISA with facilities such as ultra-modern laboratories, offices and library to promote teaching, learning and cutting-edge research in the areas of Water resources, Irrigation, Climate Change, Food and Nutrition Security, and Sustainable Agriculture. The facility is a game changer for the Centre, which is currently hosting students from 26 African Countries studying Masters and PhD students as well as undertaking Professional Short course training for industry.
