At the 22nd Congregation of the University for Development Studies held in Tamale on November 6, 2021, the first batch of six (6) Masters students from Cameroon, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Ghana who were admitted under the West Africa Centre for Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA) graduated with Masters’ Degree in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering.
WACWISA is an African Centre of Excellence for Development Impact (ACE Impact) that strives “to be a leading world-class academic and research Centre specialized in irrigation, water resources, sustainable agriculture and climate change”. It focuses on developing skills and knowledge of young men and women to provide practical and sustainable solutions to challenges in the specialized areas. They are trained to be globally competitive in the chosen areas of specialization.
