WACWISA Master’s Support 2023/2024

  About the Scholarship

WACWISA was established in 2019 as a semi-autonomous Centre of Excellence to undertake cutting-edge research and training in irrigation, drainage, water resources management, sustainable agriculture, climate change and food and nutrition security. WACWISA works towards “Building Capacities for Sustainable Solutions”, at the graduate level in its thematic areas.

 The Current Call

This current call will support the following;

  1. Tuition (Tenable for 1 Year)
  2. Research Costs (Based on approved guidelines)

 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

  • Be a UDS Master’s Student Studying any of the following Programmes;
  • Environmental Management and Sustainability
  • Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
  • Integrated Water Resources Management & Engineering
  • Soil and Water Conservation and Management
  • Horticulture
  • Crop Science
  • Agronomy
  • Have successfully completed a Trimester in the University.
  • Be of good standing according to UDS criteria
  • Be less than 35 years.

All shortlisted applicants shall be interviewed

Documents Required

  • Applicant must submit a three (3)-page maximum research proposal (including topic, background, problem statement and justification, objectives, materials and methods and expected results).
  • Applicant shall submit a two (2)-page statement of motivation outlining his/her suitability for the support.
  • Provide a 2-page curriculum vitae (CV).
  • Submit certified results of First Trimester studies from Department in the University.
  • Submit a letter of admission into the programme of study.
  • Submit an official/certified academic transcript from the previous University of study and a certified copy of academic certificates, with official English translation provided where necessary for verification.
