The West African Centre for Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA), of the University for Development Studies (UDS), on 22nd March 2024 donated five (5) modern HP laptops to the UDS Directorate of Internal Audit. Receiving the items at a brief ceremony in his office, the Director of Internal Audit, Mr. Abudulai Abubakari, expressed his gratitude to WACWISA for their kind gesture. His remarks highlighted the fact that the Directorate was in dire need of modern working tools, such as computers and accessories, as staff are often compelled to use their personal laptops for official work. The donation will, therefore, boost the morale and improve the quality of work of the staff at the Directorate. On his part, the Director of WACWISA, Ing. Prof. Felix K. Abagale, underscored the critical role of the Internal Audit Directorate in ensuring that the University complies with audit laws and regulations of Ghana. He emphasized that auditing should be seen as a due diligence support mechanism that aims to improve the University’s operations rather than just a policing job. He commended the support and cooperation that WACWISA has received so far and indicated that the donation was a small token of project support to the Directorate.
The presentation was witnessed by Mr. Cosmas Damnyak, Mr. Raymond Adongo, and Ms. Ayishetu Abubakar, of the Internal Audit Directorate, and Mr. Bernard Alando, the Administrative Coordinator of WACWISA.
