GCU-WACWISA-IWAD AAKTP Project Support Staff 

The Glasgow Caledonian University-UK, West African Centre for Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA-UDS)-Ghana, and Integrated Water Agricultural Development Ghana Limited (IWAD) are jointly implementing the African Agriculture Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (AAKTP) Project at the IWAD Project Site and WACWISA-UDS in Ghana. The African Agriculture Knowledge Transfer Partnerships is funded by Innovate UK on behalf of the UK Government. The three (3) Partners are offering opportunity for the recruitment of one (1) Research Associate for 24 months to work under the Project.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage research activities under the AAKTP project.
  • Contribute to the co-creation of research outputs with partners.
  • Design and conduct research, including experimental design, data collection and analysis.
  • Develop and implement methods for analyzing data, such as statistical and modeling.
  • Produce high-quality research outputs, including reports, scientific articles, and presentations for academic and non-academic audiences.
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners, including the supervisory team, to develop innovative solutions and support capacity building.
  • Contribute to the effective management of the AAKTP project.
  • Attend and complete KTP training modules.
  • Prepare and Complete KTP Final Report.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor degree or higher in either Agricultural, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which includes a high degree of numerical and analytics skills coupled with extremely strong programming skills in Matlab and/or Ansys Fluent, with some exposure to Python.

  • Self-motivated.

Experience

  • Essential programming experience in at least one of the following: Matlab or Ansys Fluent. Some exposure to Python is desirable.
  • Previous industrial work experience is desirable.
  • Experience of embedded software development and software hardware integration is desirable.
