Prof. Mamudu A. Akudugu (PhD) holds a PhD in Livelihoods (International and Rural Development) from the University of Reading (UoR), United Kingdom; Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana (UG), Ghana; and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Agriculture Technology from the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale – Ghana. Dr. Akudugu is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research and Consultancy Services (IIRaCS), UDS. He is the Head of University Consultancy Services Unit and Coordinator of the Ghana Inclusive Development Research Network (GIDRN). Mamudu has several years of experience in conducting interdisciplinary research and impact studies, largely employing mixed methods.
He has served as a Consultant and Independent Impact Evaluator to many national and international institutions including the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) as well as Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations (UN). His work as a Consultant and Independent Impact Evaluator has afforded him the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and skills in the design and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks. Dr. Akudugu is an active member of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE), Ghana Association of Agricultural Economists (GAAE) and Ghana Monitoring and Evaluation Forum (GMEF) among other professional bodies.
