The West African Centre for Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA) of the University for Development Studies (UDS), and Africa Water Corridors (AWC) of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) are to begin the development of a joint proposal to facilitate student training and research through joint supervision and mobility of students between the two Centres. This is contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the WACWISA-UDS and AWC-TU Delft which is expected to foster closer relations between the two institutions. To begin with activities under the MoU, ten (10) post-graduate students from WACWISA with research topics related to sustainable water resources management, water supply and sanitation are expected to benefit research grant to be implemented in the Tamale Metropolis.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Jasper Shackel, Representative of AWC of TU Delft; Prof. Felix Abagale, Director of WACWISA; Prof. Gordana Kranjac-Berisavljevic’ Deputy of Director of WACWISA; Dr. Mamudu Akudugu, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator of WACWISA and Mr. Bernard Alando, Administrative Coordinator of WACWISA.
