Prof. Samuel J. Cobbina has a PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from Jiangsu University and an MPhil. in Environmental Science from the University of Ghana. He has research and teaching experience in the field of Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment, toxicological health risk assessment of environmentally relevant toxicants and pollution control. He has been involved in various projects such as the CIDA-funded FARMER Project on the Quality of water in dugouts in northern Ghana, CWSA-funded project on assessment of fluoridated boreholes in parts of northern Region of Ghana, UNICEF-funded study on handwashing with soap (HWWS), IUCN-funded project on the Physico-chemical, microbiological and pesticide analyses of water from the PAGEV pilot zone in Burkina Faso and Ghana, and UNESCO/SIDA Project on Environmental and Health Impacts of Abandoned Mines in Sub-Saharan African Countries. Prof. Cobbina has several publications in referred journals and has chaired various committees in the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment. He has served as a Faculty Quality Assurance Officer, Head of Department and Vice Dean at various times. He is currently the Industrial Liaison Coordinator of WACWISA.
