Dr. Sylvester N. Ayambila is a Development Economist with specialty in Micro and Small Enterprise Development. He has vast knowledge and experience in the Design, Implementation and Evaluation of Development interventions in Ghana. He has worked at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, Ghana, since 2004. His main areas of Research include Micro and Small Enterprise Development, Microfinance/Microcredit, Effects/Impacts studies of development interventions, farm production and value chains.  He has undertaken many research and collaborations for many organisations and programmes which include; CIAT, IUCN, ACDEP, IWMI, FAO, IFDC, USAID, AGRA, WFP and the EU Horizon 2020. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agribusiness Management and Finance of the University for Development Studies, Tamale and also the Applied Research Coordinator of the West African Centre for Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA). Dr. Ayambila was a Third Trimester Field Practical Programme (TTFPP) Faculty Coordinator from 2015 to 2020. He was involved in the evaluation of Ghana’s Medium Term Agriculture Sector Development Plans (METASIP I&II), review of the Food and Agriculture Sector Development Policy (FASDEP II) and the development of a successor agriculture sector policy. He is a member of the Ghana Association of Agricultural Economists (GAAE).
